Encore is an industry-leading, full-service fire protection company serving the Northeast with over 50,000 customers and over 1,400 employees. As the result of our rapid growth, we are searching for a Director, Accounting Operations to provide leadership and oversight to our teams of dedicated professionals in our centralized services of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. The role will be based in our Pawtucket, Rhode Island headquarters reporting to our VP of Finance.
The Director, Accounting Operations will provide direct leadership and oversight to the managers of each of the three (3) centralized team in Finance Operations and indirect leadership and oversight to over thirty (30) professionals in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role that will directly contribute to the continuous growth of the largest full-service fire protection company in the Northeast. This role will be challenging but extremely rewarding.
Who you are:
- Knowledge of best practices - an accounting professional with deep experience, and knowledge of best practices, in all aspects of accounting operations in a high-volume transaction environment.
- A passion for people - a hands-on and energetic leader with a strong background in motivating and developing talent.
- Experience with change management - proven ability in navigating teams through changes in systems and processes.
- Effective communicator - ability to communicate the basis for, and status of, strategic actions at an executive and team level.
- Process improvement leader - skilled in leading projects aimed at improving processes and scaling systems to enhance efficiency and support growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 7-10 years of experience in a Controllership, or Controllership-type role, with a focus on full-cycle accounting operations, preferably in a high-growth, high-volume environment.
- Experience with process re-design and/or implementing software-based tools.
- Deep knowledge of the inner working and best practices of ERP systems
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to establish rapport and effectively work with colleagues of all levels.
