Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team in Pawtucket, RI. This is a pivotal role in our organization, where you will be directly involved in supporting the financial operations of the company. The Senior Accountant will manage complex accounting tasks, contribute to our financial reporting, and provide insights that support the continued growth of the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee and perform complex accounting tasks, including the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, analysis of income statement activity, and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure they reflect accurate and complete financial data.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all entries are completed on time and in compliance with GAAP.
  • M&A Accounting: Assist with accounting for purchase price allocations related to M&A transactions. Experience in this area is a plus, but training will be provided if needed.
  • M&A Integration: Work with team on accounting integration of M&A; G/L, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis, providing actionable insights to aid decision-making and business strategy.
  • Technology and Process Improvement: Leverage advanced Excel skills and other accounting software (experience with Power BI is a plus) to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Stay curious and proactive in adopting new tools and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A focus in Accounting is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate accounting role, with a proven track record of reconciling balance sheets and analyzing income statements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated experience using advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables). Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with M&A transactions, specifically purchase price allocation, is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various departments.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and a solid understanding of financial reporting and compliance requirements.
