While KOB Fire Protection services customers all throughout the state of Pennsylvania, and we are looking for someone specifically to help with our Lehigh Valley territory and customers.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for laying out, assembling and installing fire protection equipment to include pre-Engineered kitchen systems, spray booths and off-road systems per NFPA and manufacturer guidelines.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

▪ Cut, thread and groove pipe
▪ Install conduit and run stainless steel cable
▪ Install, program and test fire suppression panels
▪ Lay out system installations per manufacture’s guidelines
▪ Read, research and identify project needs prior to job start
▪ Read and interpret vendors manuals, blueprints and work orders to perform required installations
▪ Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing installations
▪ Complete and accurately record required information onto field reports
▪ Troubleshoot and repair faulty installations
▪ Responsible for maintaining all documentation and reports associated with daily work
▪ Evaluate customer sites for additional equipment and services that customer may require or that Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection may provide

▪ Work in compliance with the company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times
▪ Other duties as assigned or needed

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, including electric and battery powered equipment.
  • Comfortable with heights and working on ladders or lifts.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read and comprehend appropriate NFPA codes.
  • Must be willing to work occasional nights, weekends and overtime.
  • Plumbing, pipefitting or welding: 1 year (Preferred)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required. Industry experience preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation with willingness to travel within the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of complex blueprints and solid written and verbal skills
  • Familiarity with the national fire codes
  • Thorough knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and the necessary tools
  • Ability to work in a wide variety of conditions, including heights up to 30 feet or more and also be able to work in
    adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Experience in lift operations and OSHA guidelines
  • NICET certification a plus
