Overview

We’re looking for a Fire Alarm Install Sales Executive to help grow our fire alarm installation business throughout Maine. In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating new business, building lasting customer relationships, and developing accurate proposals for fire alarm system installations.

Don’t know much about fire alarm systems? That’s totally fine. Prior experience in fire protection is helpful—but it’s not required. We’re more interested in people who are curious, motivated, and ready to learn. The people who thrive in this role are strong communicators who aren’t afraid to start a conversation, follow through on commitments, and push projects forward. If that sounds like you, we want to talk.

About the Role

This isn’t your typical sales gig. Yes, you’ll be quoting jobs and working closely with customers, but you’ll also spend plenty of time collaborating internally—reviewing construction documents, coordinating with project managers and technicians, and ensuring everything aligns before a job kicks off.

You’ll need to be a team player who can also operate independently. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep pace in a deadline-driven environment will serve you well here.

Encore recently joined forces with Maine Fire & Security based in Lewiston, ME. This partnership strengthens our presence in the region and brings together teams that share the same commitment to excellence and customer service. As part of a larger, industry-leading organization, you’ll have access to top-tier resources and support while still benefiting from a close-knit, local team culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect and build new customer relationships to identify fire alarm installation opportunities
  • Visit customer sites, take field measurements, and assess project needs
  • Prepare detailed estimates and pre-engineered proposals in line with local and national code requirements
  • Review construction documents and coordinate with general contractors, building owners, and facility managers to define project scope
  • Collaborate with internal teams—project managers, designers, and field technicians—to ensure smooth project transitions
  • Split your time between office work and field visits (approximately 70% office / 30% field)

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re not necessarily looking for fire alarm experts—we’re looking for motivated individuals who are ready to learn, work hard, and make an impact.

Here’s what helps:

  • Sales experience: Ideally, you’ve sold a technical solution or service before—experience in fire alarm, low voltage, security, or related industries is a big plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills: You know how to build trust, communicate clearly, and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Detail-oriented mindset: You’re comfortable reviewing construction documents and estimating project costs accurately
  • Tech-savviness: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); we also use HubSpot and ServiceTrade—we’ll train you, but you should be ready to dive in
  • Self-starter attitude: You can manage your own time and priorities while staying aligned with broader team goals

What We Offer

Encore is built on a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture where success is rewarded and purpose drives our work. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, energized team that makes people’s lives safer every day.

Here’s some of what you can expect:

  • Competitive base salary + bonus opportunities tied to performance and project success
  • A results-focused, flexible work culture—focused on working smarter, not harder
  • Casual dress code that flexes with your day (jeans most days, suits when necessary—just read the room!)
  • Encore gear provided when you join the team
  • A culture that encourages fresh ideas, smart risk-taking, and continuous improvement
  • Access to leading cloud-based productivity tools
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance through Blue Cross
  • 401(k) with employer match through Fidelity
  • $50,000 company-paid life insurance policy

We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, gender, age, veteran status, disability, or any other protected status.
