Overview

Encore Fire Protection is an industry-leading, full-service fire protection company, serving over 50,000 customers across the Northeast, from Maine to Pennsylvania. With over 2,000 dedicated employees, we deliver top-notch service to those who rely on us to save lives and protect property through state-of-the-art fire suppression, sprinkler systems, and alarm solutions. Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

What You’ll Do:

Encore is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial-spirited organization seeking to add talent to our accounting team with the addition of a Billing Specialist. In this role, you will have primary responsibility for executing the payables-process start to finish. This includes:

  • Ensuring bills are properly allocated to the corresponding job or project
  • Verifying accuracy of bills against purchase orders
  • Entering invoices for payment
  • Communicating with senior level accounting and finance teams regarding outstanding account balances with recommendations for payment
  • Executing daily/weekly check runs

This position is not for the faint of heart! Our pace is fast, and our volume is high. But assuming the billing specialist seat means taking on responsibility for delegating tasks and training your teammates, as needed, to ensure YOUR payables process is completed timely and accurately.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Passionately committed to the success of themselves, their team, and Encore
  • Understanding that sometimes it takes a little extra to get the job done; whether that means staying late, coming in early, taking on an additional project or helping a teammate finish an assignment of theirs
  • Unwavering belief that putting in that extra effort does not go unnoticed in the long run
  • A natural desire to be part of a team but an even stronger desire to be the best on said team
  • Willingness to try new things, admit mistakes, adapt and change
  • 1-2 experience working in a professional accounting role with payables responsibility
  • Above average proficiency with the Microsoft platform including heavy emphasis on Excel
  • College degree preferred but not required

What We Offer:

At Encore, we’re committed to creating a culture where success thrives, and every team member is energized by the impact we make on people’s lives every day. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive salary based on experience, plus a performance-based bonus.
  • We focus on working smarter, not harder, with a results driven mindset.
  • We dress for the day’s objectives—jeans most days, suits when necessary. We also provide Encore gear for all new team members.
  • Daily snacks and coffee, weekly office lunches, and a culture that encourages idea sharing and innovation.
  • Access to leading-edge web-based productivity tools.
  • Participation in a Fidelity 401(K) with employer match, medical, dental, and vision benefits through Blue Cross, and a company-paid life insurance policy of $50,000.
