Our continued growth and success has created the need for a Special Hazards Technician working out of our Leesburg, Virginia office. 

 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and limited troubleshooting on a variety of clean agent and special hazard suppression systems, including but not limited to FM-200, Inergen, CO₂, and NOVEC 1230.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, test, and maintain special hazard fire suppression systems, including but not limited to:

    • Clean agent systems (e.g., FM-200, Novec 1230)

    • CO₂ systems

    • Foam suppression systems

    • Water mist systems

    • Explosion suppression or detection systems

  • Verify proper system operation through functional and acceptance testing.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot system issues or deficiencies.

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 2001, 12, 750), local regulations, and company standards.

  • Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other trades on-site to support successful project execution.

  • Document inspections, maintenance, and service activities in accordance with company and client requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with FM-200, Inergen, CO₂, NOVEC 1230, or other clean agent systems

  • Working knowledge of NFPA 12, 2001, and related standards

  • NICET certification (Level I or higher in Special Hazards) preferred

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including mechanical rooms and IT/data center spaces

  • Hourly pay commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role. Expected pay range between $30.00-$40.00/hr.
