Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fire sprinkler system designers.
  • Oversee the creation of system layouts and drawings from concept through to final construction documents.
  • Ensure all designs comply with NFPA codes, local jurisdictional requirements, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate design efforts with sales, estimating, project management, and field installation teams.
  • Review and approve all design submissions for accuracy, efficiency, and code compliance.
  • Manage project design timelines to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Provide technical guidance to resolve design issues and respond to RFI/submittal requests.
  • Maintain and improve departmental processes, design standards, and best practices.
  • Assist with training and development of junior designers.
  • Track and report design team performance metrics to leadership.
  • Stay current on industry codes, software tools, and technology improvements.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design.
  • NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and/or Revit (BIM experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 13, 14, and 20.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not required).
