Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

The Opportunity

As a Fire Alarm Inspector Apprentice at Encore, you will begin your career in the fast-growing field of fire protection while learning directly from experienced professionals. This role gives you hands-on experience in the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and prepares you for future growth into field technician or operations roles.

You will spend your days on active job sites and customer locations, supporting the layout, assembly, and servicing of systems and seeing how projects move from start to finish. Along the way, you will gain exposure to modern fire protection technology, develop practical technical skills, and build a strong foundation in a critical and high-demand industry.

If you enjoy working with tools, learning how systems work, and want a career path that offers stability, growth, and a clear trade to build on, this is a strong place to start.

Key Responsibilities

You will spend most days learning in the field side-by-side with experienced Fire Alarm Technicians, helping keep systems ready for the moments they are needed most. From helping with layout and installation to testing devices and learning how to spot issues early, you will be part of the full lifecycle of fire alarm work. As you grow in the role, your day-to-day will include responsibilities such as:

  • Work under the direct supervision of a qualified Fire Alarm Technician.
  • Assist with the layout, assembly, installation, testing, inspection, maintenance, and servicing fire alarm systems.
  • Learn to identify and troubleshoot system issues by following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Support daily field work using hand tools and basic equipment as directed.
  • Represent Encore in a professional manner while interacting with customers, both directly and indirectly.
  • Participate in training programs to build your technical expertise and industry knowledge.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Minimum of one year of experience in electrical work or a related technical field preferred
  • Ability to take direction from supervisors and, over time, work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in technical learning
  • Ability to work at heights and lift at least 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with willingness to travel within the assigned territory
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Interest in the construction or fire protection industry, including experience using hand tools and reading basic blueprints

What Makes You Stand Out

  • You have formal trade school or technical training in electrical, low voltage, or a related field.
  • You have previous experience assisting with fire alarm, security, or other low voltage system work.
  • You have experience working on active construction sites and following job site safety practices.
