The Opportunity

Encore is scaling fast. We are a high-growth, transaction-intensive organization moving toward $1B in annual revenue, and AIA billing is a critical part of how we get there. Right now, that function needs a leader who can take a highly manual, decentralized process and build something that actually scales. 

This is a transformation role. The right person will assess what exists, identify what is broken, and design something better. You will partner with field operations, finance, and IT to standardize workflows, drive automation, and build a billing operation that can keep pace with our growth.

Key Responsibilities

This role sits at the intersection of process, people, and performance. You will lead a billing team, drive transformation across a critical revenue function, and build the systems and structures that allow Encore to scale without breaking. Day to day, that looks like this: 

 

Leadership & Strategy 

  • Lead and develop a team of AIA billing analysts, establishing clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations 
  • Define and execute the AIA billing strategy to support growth, scalability, and operational consistency 
  • Establish a culture of ownership, process discipline, and continuous improvement 
  • Partner with AR leadership to align billing execution with cash collection objectives 

 

Process Optimization & Automation 

  • Assess current-state AIA billing workflows across multiple locations and identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks 
  • Redesign end-to-end billing processes to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy and speed 
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities leveraging existing systems (Sage, ServiceTrade) and workflow tools 
  • Eliminate reliance on spreadsheets and manual tracking where possible 
  • Develop standardized SOPs, templates, and documentation 

 

Cross-Functional Partnership 

  • Operations / Project Teams (job status, % completion, documentation readiness) 
  • Accounts Receivable / Collections (billing accuracy and timing to drive cash flow) 
  • IT / Systems (automation, integrations, and workflow improvements) 
  • Act as the bridge between field execution and corporate finance to ensure seamless billing processes 

 

Performance Management & Reporting 

Define and track key performance indicators, including: 

  • Billing cycle time  
  • First-pass yield / error rates  
  • Re-bill and rework rates  
  • Billing-to-cash conversion impact 
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to drive visibility and accountability 
  • Use data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities 

What You Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years of experience in billing, AR, shared services, or finance operations in a high-volume, multi-entity environment 
  • Proven success leading process improvement and transformation initiatives 
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced operational setting 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive automation and reduce manual processes 
  • Experience working in decentralized or multi-location organizations 

 

What Will Make You Stand Out? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. 
  • AIA/construction billing environment experience 
  • Sage, ServiceTrade, or similar ERP / field service systems 
  • Exposure to M&A integration or scaling operations in high-growth environments
