As part of Encore’s Talent, Culture, and People team, the Human Resources Generalist will play an important role in supporting our employees and keeping the day-to-day operations of our People function running smoothly. 

This role will support employees throughout the full employee lifecycle — from onboarding through offboarding and everything in between. You’ll serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers across areas including employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, workers’ compensation, compliance, and employee records. 

We’re looking for someone who is organized, approachable, comfortable navigating a wide variety of employee needs, and able to balance strong attention to detail with a people-first mindset. In a fast-growing organization like Encore, priorities can shift quickly, so this person should be comfortable jumping in, solving problems, and partnering across the business to keep things moving. 

This role will be primarily in-office at our Pawtucket, RI headquarters. 

Employee Support & Relations 

• Serve as a day-to-day resource for employees and managers on HR-related questions, policies, and processes  

• Support employee relations matters, including gathering information, documenting concerns, and partnering with leadership on appropriate resolution  

• Help employees navigate workplace questions and concerns while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and consistency  

• Partner with managers and members of the Talent, Culture, and People team on employee-related needs as they arise  

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle 

• Support new hires through the onboarding process, ensuring a welcoming and organized transition into Encore  

• Coordinate new hire paperwork, employee documentation, and HRIS updates  

• Support employee changes throughout the employee lifecycle, including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and other employment updates  

• Manage the offboarding process for departing employees, including required documentation and coordination with Payroll, IT, Benefits, and other internal partners  

Benefits & Leave Administration 

• Support the administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits  

• Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions and assist employees with enrollment and changes  

• Support annual open enrollment and ongoing coordination with benefit vendors  

• Assist with leave administration, including FMLA and other applicable federal and state leave programs  

• Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work processes  

• Review benefit billing and employee data to help ensure accuracy across internal systems and external carriers  

Compliance & HR Operations 

• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation  

• Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements  

• Assist with audits, compliance reporting, government filings, and employment verification requests  

• Maintain HRIS data integrity and support recurring employee data updates  

• Identify opportunities to improve or streamline HR processes, documentation, and employee support  

• Assist with additional Talent, Culture, and People initiatives and projects as business needs evolve 

• 2–3+ years of hands-on Human Resources experience, ideally within a Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar employee-facing role  

• Working knowledge of core HR practices and applicable employment laws and regulations 

• Experience supporting multiple areas of the employee lifecycle, such as onboarding, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, compliance, or offboarding  

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at different levels of the organization  

• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly when navigating sensitive or employee-related matters  

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment  

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion  

• Comfortable operating independently while knowing when to escalate or bring in additional resources  

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint  

• Experience working within an HRIS (Dayforce preferred) and comfort learning new technology and systems  

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
